The Blackmagic Design Spares - ATEM Television Studio HD - Labels are the clear plastic "lens" caps and the corresponding text inserts used to identify sources on the front panel of the 1RU rackmount switcher.

Unlike the "Pro" models which have a full console, the standard ATEM TV Studio HD features 8 small, high-cycle buttons on the front plate. These labels are crucial for quick identification in a dark rack or broadcast environment.

What’s Included in a Label Set

  • Clear Snap-on Keycaps: The transparent plastic housings that protect the label and distribute the LED light (Green for Preview, Red for Program).

  • Text Inserts: Small film or paper strips with standard broadcast labels:

    • CAM 1 – CAM 8

    • GFX 1 / GFX 2

    • PC / MAC

    • VTR / REPLAY

    • BLACK / BARS

Why Replace Them?

  • Yellowing: Constant exposure to the internal LEDs and ambient heat can cause the clear plastic to turn a "tobacco" yellow, making it hard to see the tally colors.

  • Loss: During a deep clean of the front panel, these small caps are easily dropped or lost.

  • Physical Damage: Excessive force or the use of sharp tools to "pop" them off can crack the retention clips on the side of the cap.

  • Adhesive Residue: If an operator used "gaffer tape" or "board tape" directly on the button instead of using the internal insert, the cap may be permanently sticky or clouded.

Installation and Customization

Repair Level: 1 (Very Easy). 1. Removal: Use a plastic pry tool or a small flathead screwdriver (wrapped in a thin cloth to prevent scratching the paint) to gently lift the edge of the clear cap. It should pop straight up.

2. Insert Placement: Place your text strip inside the cap.

3. Seating: Align the cap with the square button stem and press down firmly until it "clicks" into place.

Pro-Tip: Creating Custom Labels

If the standard labels don't match your workflow (e.g., you need "DRONE" or "ZOOM"), you can create your own:

  • The Size: The inserts for the TV Studio HD front panel are approximately 10mm x 10mm.

  • The Material: Use Matte Transparency Film. Using standard printer paper will block too much light and make the button look "dim" when it turns red or green.

  • The Look: Print black text on a clear background for a clean look, or white text on a black background for a "broadcast console" aesthetic where only the text glows.

Diagnostic: Label vs. Button Failure

If you are replacing labels because the button isn't lighting up:

  • Check the Software: Ensure the source isn't "Locked" or that the tally isn't disabled in the ATEM Setup.

  • Physical Test: If you swap a working cap to a non-working button and it still doesn't light up, the issue is the LED on the Front PCB, not the label itself.

Are you looking for the standard "CAM 1-8" pre-printed set, or do you just need a handful of the clear plastic caps?
