The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Converter 8x12G SFP is a heavy-duty, rack-mount gateway designed to bridge up to eight channels of 12G-SDI equipment with a SMPTE ST 2110 IP broadcast network. By utilizing SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) slots, it allows for high-density, multi-channel conversion over long distances using optical fiber.


Core Functionality

  • 8-Channel Bidirectional Gateway: Simultaneously converts eight independent 12G-SDI feeds into 2110 IP streams, while also converting eight 2110 IP streams back into 12G-SDI. This effectively provides 16 channels of conversion (8 in, 8 out) in a single 1RU space.

  • Fiber Optic Support: The eight SFP cages allow for the installation of 10G optical fiber transceivers. This enables the unit to be located kilometers away from the central switch or other IP endpoints.

  • Massive Format Versatility: Each of the eight channels can handle independent video standards, ranging from SD and HD up to Ultra HD 2160p60.
