The Blackmagic Design Videohub 10x10 12G is a compact, zero-latency 12G-SDI matrix routing switcher designed for compact setups like broadcast flypacks, mobile production vehicles, editing bays, and small studio control rooms.
Housed in a space-saving 1RU chassis, it allows you to connect up to 10 independent video sources and distribute them to any combination of 10 video destinations simultaneously. Because it utilizes multi-rate 12G-SDI technology, every single BNC port acts as a universal gateway capable of carrying everything from legacy Standard Definition (SD) up to uncompressed Ultra-HD and 4K video at 60 frames per second over a single coaxial cable.

Key Architectural Benefits
-
Advanced 12G-SDI Re-clocking: To combat signal degradation over long cable runs, the Videohub features built-in SDI re-clockers on every single 12G input. The system instantly regenerates the digital video data pulse before passing it downstream, allowing you to deploy much longer coaxial cable runs without incurring bit errors or dropped frames.
-
Full Multi-Rate Matching: The router automatically detects the signal format instantly as it shifts on a per-port basis. You can route an ancient SD studio line on Input 1 to Output 5, while simultaneously routing an uncompressed 2160p60 4K master feed on Input 2 to Output 3 without any internal clock errors or format friction.
-
Zero-Latency Cross-point Routing: The hardware acts as a true copper-speed matrix switch. Switching paths take place instantly inside the silicon plane without adding any processing lag or frame delay, making it critical for live television environments where video and audio sync cannot tolerate drift.
Local and Network Control Options
-
The Front Panel Interface: Unlike classic "blind" routers, the front panel includes a built-in color LCD screen. When turning the machined control dial to scan your route profiles, it displays live video thumbnails of your source feed along with custom alphanumeric labels, allowing quick, visual confirmation of video paths before hitting the "Take" button.
-
Network App Automation: The unit is entirely manageable over a local area network (LAN) using Blackmagic's Videohub Control Software utility. It supports customizable visual icon layouts for Mac, Windows, and iPad.
-
Hardware Integration: For dedicated Master Control rooms or engineering racks, it pairs directly with the Videohub Smart Control Pro and Videohub Master Control Pro hardware IP panels, which mount anywhere in the building to pull crosspoints over simple IP protocols.
Software Integration Warning
💡 Developer Protocol Support: The Videohub runs on an open, transparent text-based ethernet command protocol. System integrators can easily issue commands to switch inputs and outputs via basic Telnet scripts, making it simple to write custom automation routines or link the routing system directly into third-party control blocks like Crestron, AMX, or Ross Video infrastructure.
