The Hollyland Mars 4K UHD HDMI/SDI Wireless Video Transmission System is a complete, out-of-the-box transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) kit designed to bring ultra-high-definition monitoring to independent film sets, live broadcast spaces, and commercial video shoots.

By upgrading the wireless pipeline to support UHD 4K at 30fps, this system targets production teams who need to check critical focus, exposure, and fine detail without tethering the director or client monitor to a massive tangle of SDI or HDMI cords.

Core Hardware & Signal Strengths

  • UHD 4K Transmission Pipeline: The system natively supports UHD 4K resolution at 24, 25, and 30fps via the HDMI port. For traditional broadcast or cinema frame rates requiring high refresh speeds, it cleanly processes 1080p and 720p at up to 60fps across both its digital interfaces.

  • 450ft Operational Footprint: Delivers rock-solid wireless video data transmission up to a 450-foot (150-meter) Line-of-Sight (LOS) radius.

  • Ultra-Low Response Latency: The internal encoding hardware operates at an ultra-low latency of roughly 0.06 seconds (66 milliseconds). This tight throughput speed makes it highly practical for real-time camera panning, focus pulling, and immediate directing feedback.

  • HDMI & 3G-SDI Dual-Port Interfacing: Both the transmitter and receiver feature separate HDMI and 3G-SDI ports. This dual-architecture design supports automatic cross-conversion—allowing you to feed a consumer camera's HDMI output into the transmitter, send it over the air, and pull a professional SDI line out of the receiver to feed a production monitor.

Versatile Monitoring & App Integration

The Mars 4K does not restrict you to traditional hardware-only setups. Depending on how your crew is distributed across the venue floor, you can split your wireless allocation through the HollyView Monitoring App (iOS/Android):

Technical Specifications Matrix

Feature Specification
Kit Loadout Components 1 × Mars 4K Transmitter (Red Badge) + 1 × Mars 4K Receiver (Blue Badge)
Wireless Frequency Carrier 5.1 GHz to 5.8 GHz Dynamic Spectrum
Maximum Video Bitrate Variable from 8 Mbps up to 20 Mbps (12 Mbps Default Standard)
Signal-to-Noise Isolation High-efficiency automatic frequency channel hopping
Display Controls Side-mounted color LCD menu screen with physical joystick navigation
Core Chassis Metric Weight 223g (7.8 oz) per unit — built from robust, lightweight industrial polymers

Tri-Option Power Infrastructure

To adapt to unpredictable changes on location, both the transmitter and receiver are engineered with three distinct power inputs:

  1. Sony NP-F Battery Plates: Accepts standard Sony L-Series batteries (NP-F550/750/970) directly on the rear of the casing.

  2. 6V–16V DC Barrel Input: Locking barrel block for linking straight into V-mount battery distributor plates on camera cages or studio AC wall blocks.

  3. 5V/2.5A USB-C Interface: Allows both modules to run off common portable phone power banks or USB-PD blocks, perfect for lightweight, handheld director's rigs.

💡 Startup Channel Management: When you power on the system, the Mars 4K automatically performs an environment frequency scan before launching its video pipeline. It maps local interference and automatically locks onto the cleanest channel available. If local Wi-Fi or cellular networks crowd your signal mid-shoot, you can click the side joystick to force a fresh scan and clean up your feed instantly.
