Hollyland Spares - D-TAP to DC 2.1 Power Supply Cable (for Mars & Cosmos Series, except Mars 300pro)

The Hollyland D-Tap to DC 2.1 Power Supply Cable (Locking Version) is an official OEM power accessory designed to power professional Mars and Cosmo series wireless video transmitters and receivers directly from high-capacity cinema batteries.

Unlike standard push-fit DC cables, this variant features an integrated metal locking collar on the DC connector end. This physical lock ensures the cable cannot be accidentally jerked or vibrated loose from the transmitter mid-shoot—making it an absolute necessity for demanding environments like car-to-car tracking shots, heavy gimbal work, or complex handheld camera configurations.

Core Electrical & Rigging Features

  • Threaded Mechanical Locking Ring: The male $2.1\text{mm}$ DC barrel interface features a knurled metal collar. This screws directly onto the threaded outer housing of compatible Mars and Cosmo units, entirely isolating the connection from cable strain or accidental snags.

  • Premium Molded D-Tap Connector: The power source end features a heavy-duty, right-angle male D-Tap (P-Tap) plug. This low-profile plug channels power cleanly away from your battery plate, avoiding messy cable loops that stick out from your camera rig.

  • Streamlined On-Camera Cable Management: Measuring 23.6 inches (60 centimeters) in length, the cable provides enough distance to cleanly route power from a rear-mounted V-mount/Gold-mount plate down to a top-mounted wireless transmitter without forcing tight bends or leaving loose slack.

  • Lossless Voltage Pass-Through: Built with thick copper conductors shielded by a durable, flexible insulation jacket. It effortlessly carries native cinema battery currents (12V - 16.8V) to ensure the wireless node has plenty of clean power headroom during long transmission ranges.

System Interoperability & The "Mars 300 Pro" Exception

This specific cable is engineered with a locking thread mechanism and standard barrel depth intended for Hollyland's intermediate and advanced infrastructure.

Fully Supported Systems:

  • Hollyland Mars Series: Mars 300 (Original), Mars 400, Mars 400S, Mars 400S Pro, Mars 400S Pro II, Mars 4K, and the Mars M1 / M1 Enhanced wireless transceiver monitors.

  • Hollyland Cosmo Series: Cosmo C1 and Cosmo 600 systems.

  • Power Sources: Any professional V-Mount, Gold Mount, or high-capacity broadcast battery plate featuring a standard female D-Tap accessory output.

⚠️ Why it is EXCLUDED from the Mars 300 Pro:

The Mars 300 Pro transmitter and receiver chassis layout utilizes a streamlined, flat-surface design that relies on a different power port structure. Unlike the rest of the family, the Mars 300 Pro inputs do not feature the external female threading required to match this locking ring, and its internal pin depth is built around non-locking consumer DC plugs or its alternative native USB-C port. Attempting to force a locking DC cable onto a Mars 300 Pro can fail to make electrical contact or stress the unthreaded port socket.

Technical Specifications Matrix

  • Official Product Classification: OEM Professional Video-Infrastructure Power Spares

  • Terminal Interface Connection A: 1 × Standard Right-Angle D-Tap Male Connector

  • Terminal Interface Connection B: 1 × 2.1mm Center-Positive Male DC Barrel Plug with Outer Locking Ring

  • Total Physical Cable Length: 23.6 inches / 60 centimeters

  • Conductor Type Quality: High-Density Stranded Copper Core

  • Color Configuration Profile: Production Matte Black with Silver Metal Ring Accent

On-Set Setup Checklist

Before threading the locking ring down onto your transmitter's power input, make sure you line up the DC barrel pins straight. Spin the knurled metal ring by hand until it sits flush and snug; do not use pliers or over-tighten the collar, as this can strip the thread lock. Once secure, route the cable through the structural beams of your camera cage to serve as an extra point of strain relief. This ensures that even if something snags the cable hard on set, the physical pulling force never reaches the delicate electrical board inside your gear.
