The Kiloview V-Mount Kit (specifically identified by part numbers KA-VM1 or CL-VZ-5200111) is a rugged, form-fitting mechanical and electrical rigging expansion accessory designed for remote and field broadcasting. It allows camera crews to securely sandwich a Kiloview hardware encoder or converter directly between a large broadcast camera body and its high-capacity V-mount battery, providing a clean, cable-managed system for mobile live streaming.
Key Engineering and Physical Features
-
V-Lock Structural Sandwich Plate: The kit acts as an inline physical pass-through plate. One side features a heavy-duty female V-dock receiver that securely locks onto your camera's native rear plate or shoulder rig, while the opposite side provides a standard male V-mount wedge to accept any professional V-mount broadcast battery (like Swit, SmallRig, IDX, or Anton Bauer).
-
Dedicated Module Mounting Bracket: Machined explicitly out of heavy-duty aluminum alloy, the frame plate features matching layout channels with thumbscrews to secure Kiloview's mobile field hardware without obstructing the encoder’s ventilation meshes.
-
Custom Integrated D-Tap Power Distribution: Rather than forcing operators to rely on standard domestic wall-warts or messy third-party cables, the kit comes bundled with a custom-molded D-Tap to DC barrel cable. It regulates the high-voltage discharge from the V-mount battery safely down to the converter's mandatory DC requirements.
-
Rapid Toolless Attachment: The mechanical rail alignment allows operators to slide, lock, or tear down the camera rig in under two minutes during fast-paced field reporting or live ENG (Electronic News Gathering) deployments.
Core Hardware Device Compatibility
The physical and electrical footprints of the V-mount plate are tailored specifically to match Kiloview's edge-hardware families:
-
E-Series Wired Hardware Encoders: Kiloview E1 (3G-SDI) and E2 (HDMI) baseband-to-IP encoders.
-
E-NDI Specialized Encoders: Kiloview E1-NDI and E2-NDI High-Bandwidth/HX network streaming modules.
-
G-Series Wireless 4G/LTE Bonded Encoders: Kiloview G1 (3G-SDI) and G2 (HDMI) cellular bonding and Wi-Fi streaming encoders.

💡 Operational Rigging Tips for the V-Mount Kit
The Center of Gravity Counterbalance: When mounting a Kiloview G2 or E2-NDI encoder onto the back of a large cinema or ENG camera body using this kit, always check your tripod head's counterbalance fluid adjustments. Placing the encoder and a heavy 99Wh or 190Wh V-mount battery at the extreme rear of the rig acts as a significant lever arm. While this beautifully balances out heavy, long telephoto zoom lenses on the front of the rig, it can cause the camera to tilt backward violently if your tripod tension is left loose.
-
Securing Cellular Antennas on G-Series Rigs: If you are using the V-mount kit to support a wireless Kiloview G1 or G2 4G-LTE bonding encoder, take extra care with the placement of your screw-on high-gain cellular antennas. Ensure the antennas are angled outward in a wide "V" shape so they extend past the physical edges of the large V-mount battery block. If the antennas are tucked directly behind a massive lithium-ion battery cell, the dense internal metal construction of the battery will shield the antennas, degrading your wireless signal and potentially causing packet loss on your live stream.
