The official, factory-designated extendable pan handles designed specifically for the Libec LX10, RHP75, and RHP85 fluid heads belong to the PH-8B series.

Because these mid-to-heavy professional fluid heads utilize a standardized mechanical rosette tooth wheel matching pattern, Libec engineered this series to serve as their primary telescoping leverage tool.

Depending on your preferred operating orientation or if you want to build out a dual broadcast handle setup, Libec offers two distinct versions:

The Two Configuration Versions

  • Libec PH-8B (Right-Handed Standard): This is the standard model packaged from the factory with a downward-pointing angle optimized for right-handed use. It curves specifically to clear the right side of a standard camera chassis, protecting your hand from rubbing against media doors or HDMI outputs.

  • Libec PH-8B(L) / PH-8BL (Left-Handed Mirror): This version features a mirrored mechanical angle out of the box, specifically designed to mount on the left side rosette. It ensures proper clearance for left-hand operations or for hosting lens control demands (like focus or zoom controllers) without colliding with the camera body.

Note: While both bars technically feature teeth on their clamp boundaries that allow them to be forced onto either side in a pinch, using the version specifically angled for your chosen side prevents ergonomics or clearance issues with wide camera packages.

Key Performance Features

  • Telescopic Range Adjustment: Equipped with a center twist-lock collar that allows the operator to smoothly extend the effective arm length from 40.0 cm to 55.8 cm (16.0" to 22.0").

  • Leverage Fine-Tuning: Extending the arm length provides vital mechanical leverage. This is critical for executing ultra-slow, high-friction pan and tilt tracking when using long telephoto lenses or heavy payloads nearing the maximum limits of the LX10 (35 lbs) or RHP85 (55 lbs).

  • High-Torque Rosette Integration: Features deep-cut hardened metal rosettes that lock tightly with the teeth on the LX10 and RHP series heads. This metal-on-metal design completely eliminates micro-slipping, play, or mechanical backlash when managing large broadcast configurations.

Technical Specifications Matrix:

Performance Parameter Libec PH-8B / PH-8BL Specifications
Official Catalog SKU PH-8B (Right Hand Orientation) | PH-8B(L) (Left Hand Orientation)
Adjustable Extension Range 40.0 cm to 55.8 cm / 16.0" to 22.0"
Primary Material High-Strength Structural Aluminum Alloy
Grip Architecture Heavy-Duty Non-Slip Ribbed Studio Rubber Grip
Native Head Compatibility LX10, LX10M, RHP75, RHP85 (Also fits legacy GH75 / GH85 and NH30 heads)
Net Hardware Weight Approximately 0.46 kg / 1.02 lbs

💡 Dual Handle Application Tip: If you are configuring a studio or live broadcast setup using an LX10 or RHP head, pairing one standard PH-8B on the right with one PH-8B(L) on the left creates an ideal dual-handle broadcast platform. This layout allows you to securely mount a digital zoom demand rocker to the right arm handle and a mechanical focus wheel demand to the left arm handle.
