The Libec JB50 KIT is a heavy-duty, professional production crane package combining the JB50 Telescopic Jib Arm, the T102RB Heavy-Duty 100mm Aluminum Tripod, and the DL-8RB Heavy-Duty Broadcast Dolly. Complete with individual dedicated padded carrying cases for each major component, this system is engineered for small production crews, broadcast stations, and live-event teams needing smooth crane moves (vertical, horizontal, and diagonal tracking) on location or in a studio environment.
System Component Breakdown & Operational Design
1. The Core: Libec JB50 Telescopic Jib Arm
-
Lever-Lock Telescopic Extension: Unlike traditional modular jibs that require adding or removing physical arm segments to change length, the JB50 features a telescopic front arm. You simply flip the integrated lock levers to adjust the main arm length seamlessly anywhere between 100cm and 190cm (39.5" to 75.0").
-
Dynamic Capacity Scaling: The internal geometry supports high load capacities that scale based on extension distance. At its shortest setting (100cm), it can support full camera or remote head assemblies weighing up to 20.0 kg (44.0 lbs). Even when thrown out to its maximum 190cm extension, it maintains a robust payload capacity of 10.0 kg (22.0 lbs).
-
Dual Operation Modes: The front section features a standard 100mm bowl mount that can be operated traditionally using a standard fluid head. Alternatively, the jib can be inverted for ground-level, low-angle underslung configurations, or paired with a motorized remote head (like the Libec REMO30) controlled entirely from the rear pan bar station.
-
Compact Rear Retraction: By loosening the center column assembly using the included tool, the entire main chassis can slide back 30cm (12.0") toward the rear. This design allows you to dramatically reduce the rear swing radius when operating in tight indoor spaces or cramped studio sets.
2. The Foundation: T102RB Heavy-Duty Tripod Legs
-
High-Torque 100mm Bowl: Built from high-strength aluminum alloy, these heavy-duty legs are specifically engineered to eliminate the extreme twisting and bowing forces generated when a fully counterweighted jib arm is swung horizontally off-center.
-
Rotary Lock Anchoring: Large mechanical twist grips secure the single-stage extensions with high compression forces, preventing vertical slipping under total combined rig weights approaching 90 kg.
3. Smooth Rolling Floor Base: DL-8RB Heavy-Duty Dolly
-
High-Weight Tracking Casters: The large rubber caster wheels are designed to bear high structural loads across flat surfaces while dampening minor floor imperfections to maintain a smooth camera shot.
-
Foot-Activated Control Pedals: Each caster wheel is equipped with a dual-action foot switch. Stomping the pedal immediately locks both the wheel's rolling axle and its swivel rotation, anchoring the moving platform securely into a completely rigid tracking position.

Operational System Tips for the JB50 KIT:
💡 The Balancing Safety Flow: When building out the JB50 system, always secure the pan and tilt friction locks on the jib arm completely before mounting any hardware. Mount your camera or remote head to the front platform first. While holding the front arm firmly, have an assistant slide standard barbell counterweights onto the rear weight bar. Slowly release the tilt lock and adjust the counterweight stack until the arm floats perfectly parallel to the ground when unsupervised.
-
Accessory Mount Placement: Avoid clamping heavy monitors directly onto the moving arm sections, as this changes your vertical balance profile as the jib tilts. Instead, utilize the native 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded sockets machined into the stationary center column casting, or attach a dedicated articulating arm directly to the integrated rosette mount to keep your monitor steady during crane movements.
