These heavy-duty pads stretch or snap securely over the dual-metal ground spikes of Libec's mid-range production tripods, preventing the metal points from scratching indoor floors while drastically increasing physical traction on smooth or slick surfaces.
Component Compatibility Overview
The FP-2B pads are custom-tailored to seamlessly clip onto the bottom section of Libec’s primary 2-stage aluminum and carbon fiber leg lineups:
-
RT30B / RT30RB: Standard-duty 75mm bowl aluminum tripod legs.
-
RT40RB: High-rigidity 75mm bowl aluminum tripod legs.
-
RT50B & RT50C: Heavy-duty 100mm bowl aluminum (B) and carbon fiber (C) tripod legs.
Core Features & Mechanics
-
Integrated Snap-On Pull Tabs: The feet feature heavy-duty rubber loops designed to wrap tightly around the molded anchor blocks just above the leg spikes. This layout ensures the pads remain physically locked to the legs when lifted out of deep mud or sand, avoiding the lost-footing pitfalls common with basic friction caps.
-
Non-Slip Studio Footprint: The underside of each pad features a wide, flat, cross-hatched rubber tread layout. This shape maximizes surface area contact on slick indoor environments like corporate stages, basketball courts, and polished studio tiling.
-
Mid-Level Spreader Alignment: These feet are explicitly intended to be used when configuring your tripod with a mid-level spreader (such as the BR-2B or BR-6B). Because a mid-level spreader lifts the lower structural braces off the ground, the FP-2B pads serve as the standalone point of contact ensuring the bare metal spikes stay completely isolated from the floor.

Operational System Tips for the FP-2B:
💡 Transitioning to a Dolly or Floor Spreader: If your production shifts from an outdoor mid-level tracking environment to an indoor setup using a Libec DL-5RB dolly or SP-2B floor spreader, you must unlatch and pull off the FP-2B rubber pads. Both the dolly and the floor spreader feature custom-machined steel locking cups meant to grasp the bare, tapered metal spikes directly. Leaving the rubber feet on will prevent the spikes from seating correctly into those specialized ground anchors.
-
Cleaning out Grit: When packing up after an exterior shoot on soft mud or wet grass, pull the rubber feet off before bagging the tripod. Sediment can easily pack into the internal spike cavities inside the rubber casting. Giving them a quick tap and fresh-water rinse prevents moisture and grit from degrading the metal spike housings during storage.
