This setup serves as Libec’s flagship ultra-lightweight, high-stability ground platform. It is designed specifically for single-operator shooters, corporate videographers, and documentary crews using compact digital cinema packages or rigged mirrorless configurations weighing up to 4.0 kg (8.8 lbs). By swapping the mid-level spreader for a ground spreader, this system drops its center of gravity and allows you to capture extremely low-angle shots.
System Component Breakdown & Key Design Features
1. The Control Center: Libec NH10 Fluid Head
-
Dual-Base Interface: The NH10 features a hybrid base layout combining a 75mm half-ball and a flat base with a 3/8"-16 threaded mounting socket. You can instantly loosen the bottom tie-down knob and move the head directly from the carbon legs onto a slider carriage, crane arm, or tabletop platform without needing separate adapters.
-
Continuous Micro-Counterbalance: Rather than forcing you into fixed steps, the head uses a continuous internal spring counterbalance dial. This allows you to perfectly balance the exact weight of rigs anywhere from 0 to 4.0 kg (0 to 8.8 lbs), ensuring the camera remains completely still at any tilt angle.
-
All-Weather Fluid Drag: The pan and tilt mechanics feature high-grade silicone grease dampening, ensuring uniform drag without stickiness or backlash. It maintains steady performance even in extreme environmental conditions, from negative 40 degrees Celsius to positive 60 degrees Celsius (negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit to positive 140 degrees Fahrenheit).
2. Low-Profile Stability: Carbon Legs & SP-1B Ground Spreader
-
Torsional Rigidity: The leg tubes utilize multi-layered carbon fiber weaves. This provides maximum resistance to rotational twisting, preventing the distracting "wind-up snapback" that can occur at the end of quick panning movements when shooting with telephoto lenses.
-
Immovable Floor Footprint: By selecting the SP-1B Ground Spreader, you anchor the legs at the absolute lowest point of the chassis. This forms a low center-of-gravity triangle that completely eliminates leg splay under load. The spreader arms feature independent telescopic extension tracks, allowing you to widen the footprint to drop the tripod down to just 53.0 cm (21.0 inches) off the ground.
3. Balancing & Travel Accessories
-
Long Sliding Plate: To balance asymmetrical camera rigs—such as cameras utilizing front-heavy lenses or large batteries on the rear rail—the system comes standard with an elongated sliding camera plate offering plus or minus 40mm (plus or minus 1.57 inches) of travel.
-
RC-20 Padded Transport Case: A rugged, zippered travel bag fitted with internal structural straps to protect your carbon fiber system during transit.

Operational Pro-Tips for the NX-100C:
💡 The Side-Load Quick Plate Mechanics: The NH10 utilizes Libec's intuitive side-load camera plate mechanism. Instead of having to slide a heavy camera assembly from the rear, you can tilt the camera package straight down into the left side of the platform groove until it clicks. This engages a safety lock, allowing you to slide the rig forward or backward to balance before clamping it down tightly.
-
Flat Surface Operating Boundary: The SP-1B ground spreader is designed for flat, stable surfaces like studio floors, gymnasiums, asphalt, or concrete pads. If you are deploying the tripod on rugged exterior terrain, hillsides, or stairs, the ground spreader arms can twist off-axis. For those environments, consider swapping it for a mid-level spreader (BR-2B) and large rubber feet (FP-1B).
-
Direct Accessory Rigging: Avoid hanging heavy external monitors, wireless receivers, or audio recorders off your camera cage, as this throws off your carefully tuned fluid head balance. Instead, utilize the native 1/4"-20 threaded accessory port integrated directly into the left side of the NH10 head casting. This allows you to mount an articulating arm to hold your accessories directly on the head structure itself.
