This configuration is Libec’s premium ultra-lightweight, compact structural tripod system. It is specifically engineered for lightweight workflows, such as handheld mirrorless setups, small modular cinema builds (like a stripped-down FX3, BMPCC, or RED Komodo), and lightweight ENG video projects up to a maximum system payload of 4.0 kg (8.8 lbs). It offers excellent torsional rigidity while remaining remarkably easy to carry.

Core Component Breakdown & Innovation

1. The Brain: Libec NH10 Fluid Head

  • Dual-Base Hybrid Engineering: The NH10 features a built-in hybrid base that integrates a 75mm half-ball directly with a flat base layout featuring a standard 3/8"-16 threaded mounting socket. By simply unscrewing the bottom bowl tie-down knob, you can immediately transfer the fluid head from the tripod legs onto slider carriages, small crane/jib arms, or standard flat-top desktop tripods without needing extra adapters.

  • Continuous Multi-Stage Counterbalance: Rather than forcing you into rigid preset steps that might under- or over-compensate for your camera, the NH10 features a continuous internal spring counterbalance dial. It allows you to perfectly dial in tension to match your camera’s exact center of gravity within a 0 to 4.0 kg (0 to 8.8 lbs) operating window.

  • Real Fluid Drag Stability: The pan and tilt mechanics feature high-grade silicone grease dampening, ensuring uniform drag without stickiness or backlash. It maintains steady performance even in extreme environmental conditions, from -40C to 60^C (-40^F to 140^F).

2. The Support: Carbon Fiber Legs & BR-2B Mid-Level Spreader

  • High-Rigidity Braiding: The multi-layered carbon fiber leg construction provides outstanding resistance against rotational twisting. This prevents the frustrating "wind-up snapback" that can plague lightweight tripods at the end of a quick pan.

  • Adaptable Stance (BR-2B Spreader + FP-1B Large Pads): Choosing the mid-level spreader lets you set up securely on highly uneven terrain like stairs, rocky slopes, or curbs. The oversized rubber feet wrap around integrated lower metal spikes, offering reliable traction on smooth indoor studio floors or slick concrete.

3. The Accessories: Long Sliding Plate & Padded Case

  • Elongated Sliding Track: To accommodate top-heavy camera rigs, matte boxes, or rear-heavy wireless receivers and batteries, the long plate offers 40mm (1.57") of sliding travel to help you find the optimal physical balance point on the head.

  • RC-20 Padded Transport Case: A rugged, zippered travel bag fitted with internal structural straps to protect your carbon fiber system during transit.

Operational Pro-Tips for the NX-100MC:

💡 The Side-Load Quick Plate Mechanics: The NH10 utilizes Libec's convenient side-load mechanism. Instead of sliding your camera in from the back while balancing a top-heavy camera, you can tip the camera plate directly down into the left side of the platform groove until it clicks securely into the safety rail. From there, simply slide it forward or backward to balance before clamping it down tightly.

  • Direct Accessory Rigging: To prevent external accessories like monitors or wireless receivers from throwing off your finely tuned fluid head balance, avoid attaching them to your camera cage. Instead, make use of the native 1/4"-20 threaded accessory port built directly into the left side of the NH10 head casting. This allows you to attach an articulating arm directly to the tripod head itself.
