When you combine the Libec QH1 fluid head with the T150B legs and the SP-15B ground spreader, you build the exact layout of the premium Libec QD-10 Field Tripod System with Floor Spreader.
This configuration strips away the mid-level spreader and rubber pads in favor of maximum structural rigidity and an ultra-stable footprint. It is explicitly designed for operations on flat surfaces—such as television studios, arenas, smooth concrete, or track platforms—where heavy, front-heavy camera payloads up to 40 kg (88 lbs) require rock-solid stabilization.
Component Function & Integration
1. Structural Interface: Native Flat Base to 150mm Bowl
Because the QH1 fluid head natively utilizes a heavy-duty, studio 4-bolt flat base, it mounts to the wide-gauge 150mm bowl of the T150B legs using the Libec BL-150 half-ball adapter. This enables rapid, fluid leveling on flat or slightly inclined surfaces without having to strip down or change out the head assembly.
2. Zero-Splay Base: The SP-15B Floor Spreader
The SP-15B is a heavy-duty ground spreader engineered specifically for the dual metal spikes at the absolute bottom of the T150 series leg castings.
-
Anti-Splay Architecture: By locking the legs together at floor level, the SP-15B forms an immovable, low-center-of-gravity triangle. This completely eliminates leg splay under heavy broadcast setups.
-
Telescopic Tuning: Each arm features independent extension tracks locked by heavy turn-knobs, allowing you to widen the tripod footprint to drop the camera lower to the ground while maximizing tip-over safety.
-
Center Pull-Ring: Features an integrated center handle, allowing the operator to lift and collapse the entire heavy tripod framework inward symmetrically in one swift movement.

Ground Spreader Operational Pro-Tips:
⚠️ The Flat Surface Limitation: The SP-15B ground spreader should only be deployed on stable, flat surfaces. If your shoot takes you onto rugged exterior terrain, steep hillsides, or stadium stairs, you should swap the SP-15B out for a mid-level spreader (BR-6B) and rubber feet (FP-6B). Forcing a ground spreader onto uneven or stepped ground forces the spreader arms to twist off-axis, loading uneven bending strain onto the tripod's lower joints and creating a tipping hazard for heavy camera rigs.
-
Dampening Long-Lens Shakes: When operating at the maximum focal lengths of a telephoto lens with a heavy studio setup, fully extend the telescopic arms of the SP-15B. The ultra-wide footprint acts as a mechanical dampener, isolating the fluid head from micro-vibrations and absorbing the initial torque spike of sharp, sudden panning adjustments.
