The remote head engineered explicitly for handheld cameras, small cinema setups, and mirrorless rigs is the Libec REMO30.

It serves as a motorized pan-and-tilt system designed to operate your camera from a distance when mounted on a crane, jib arm, or tall tripod.

Key Performance Capabilities

  • Optimized Payload Capacity: Safely supports camera packages up to 5.0 kg (11.0 lbs). This weight target is tailor-made for handheld video camcorders, mirrorless hybrid rigs, and lightweight cinema platforms (like a stripped-down Sony FX6, Canon C70, or RED Komodo) accompanied by standard lenses and audio receivers.

  • Dual-Base Compatibility: The base features a universal hybrid interface that natively fits both 75mm and 100mm bowl tripods/jib arms, as well as standard flat-base mounts. This allows you to deploy it across almost any grip equipment you already own without needing step-down adapters.

  • Variable Precision Joystick Control: The accompanying controller features an infinitely variable joystick. The system's speeds are highly adjustable: it can execute a rapid 360-degree sweep in just 9 seconds for fast tracking, or slow down to a crawl taking 51 seconds per revolution for smooth cinematic pans.

  • Tangle-Free Cabling Infrastructure: To prevent the typical mess of twisted wires on a crane, Libec built the REMO30 with an all-in-one control cable architecture. A single unified line transmits the motor commands, LANC camera run/stop signals, and video monitoring signals simultaneously.

  • Weatherized Build: The head carries an IPX2 splash-proof rating, making it safe to operate outdoors in light rain or misty coastal environments.

Technical Specifications Matrix:

Parameter Libec REMO30 Factory Specifications
Maximum Safe Payload 5.0 kg / 11.0 lbs
Hardware Weight Head Assembly: 4.5 kg (9.9 lbs) | Control Box: 0.7 kg (1.5 lbs)
Maximum Rotation Speed 360° in 9 seconds (Fastest setting)
Minimum Rotation Speed 360° in 51 seconds (Slowest creeping setting)
Camera Mounting Interface 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws via an 80mm sliding balance plate
Power Options 100-240V AC Adapter OR V-Mount Battery Plate (built-in)
Operational Orientation Standard upright OR inverted/under-slung (for bird's-eye shots)

Deployment & Operating Pro-Tips:

⚠️ The Critical Balancing Rule: Before turning on the electronic motor system, you must achieve manual physical balance. Drop your camera onto the sliding plate, angle the tilt arm at 90 degrees, and adjust the center of gravity until the camera stays completely still when the motors are disengaged. If you do not balance the camera first, the motors will work under constant strain, leading to stalling during quick tilts and rapid battery drain.

  • Single-Axis Locking Feature: If your shot only requires a straight horizontal panoramic move, you can use the physical pan/tilt lock switches on the controller to disable the vertical axis completely. This helps you maintain a straight panning line without accidentally shifting off-axis via the joystick.
