The Neutrik NLT4FXX-BAG is a premium, ultra-rugged 4-pole female speakON STXX Series cable connector featuring a black metal housing and solder terminations.

This connector is the direct, updated successor to the discontinued legacy NLT4FX-BAG model. It has been structurally re-engineered to achieve full compliance with modern global device safety standards (IEC 62368-1 and IEC 61984). It remains the industry baseline for heavy-duty, tour-grade amplifier-to-loudspeaker connections where standard plastic plugs risk being crushed by forklifts, trampled on stage, or exposed to harsh weather.

Key Technical Enhancements (FXX vs. Discontinued FX)

  • IEC 62368-1 Safety Compliance: The internal contact insulation block and glass-reinforced structural elements have been updated to meet modern strict touch-proof and fire-retardant safety standards under high-wattage amplifier loads.

  • Upgraded KTL Black Coating: The rugged zinc die-cast outer shell features an advanced black KTL (cathodic e-coat) and black-chrome finish. This ensures a non-reflective stealth profile on stage and highly improved scratch and corrosion resistance compared to older models.

Critical Design Features

  • Heavy-Duty Solder Contacts: Instead of screw-clamp terminals found on standard plastic speakON lines, the STXX series features extra-large internal solder cups. Soldering creates an airtight, permanently stable physical bond capable of handling extreme low-frequency subwoofer vibrations without wires rattling loose.

  • IP54 Weatherproof Barrier: The connector features a built-in rubber sealing gasket integrated into the metal housing. When mated to a matching companion STXX series panel plug, the connection achieves an IP54 rating, shielding the internal silver contacts against dust ingress and outdoor rain showers.

Technical Specifications Matrix

Feature Specification
Electrical Configuration 4-Pole Matrix Layout (Pins: 1+, 1-, 2+, 2-)
Continuous Current Capacity 30 A rms continuous per contact channel
Rated Voltage Baseline 250 V AC
Maximum Wire Size Capacity Up to 6 mm² (10 AWG) inside the solder cups
Acceptable Cable Outer Diameter (OD) Broad single-chuck capacity from 9 mm to 16 mm
Contact Plating Premium Silver ($Ag$) over copper alloy
Locking System Type Reinforced metal "Quick Lock" bayonet latch
Mechanical System Lifespan Guaranteed for greater than 5,000 insertion/extraction cycles

Operational Guardrail & Intermating Compatibility

  • Cross-Compatibility: The NLT4FXX-BAG is fully backwards-compatible and will intermate seamlessly with standard 4-pole plastic speakON chassis connectors (such as the NL4MP and NL4MP-XX) as well as legacy STX metal inputs.

  • The "Male Latch" Logic Shift: Note that in the premium metal STXX series, the locking release latch is located on the panel/chassis side rather than the cable connector shell itself.

  • Strict Safety Warning: Although it is built with heavy-duty contacts and massive electrical headroom, the speakON architecture is strictly engineered for audio signal paths only. It must NEVER be used as an AC mains power supply connector.
